The Vision
This project serves as a perfect example of the value of professional design. While a 'cookie-cutter' pool could have been achieved, we weren't hired for the norm; we were hired to deliver an incredible, one-of-a-kind poolside oasis and to maximize the overall use of the space. To achieve this, Redwood navigated an incredibly challenging combination of strict local zoning setbacks, conservation proximity, and dramatic topography. By abandoning traditional shapes and utilizing a high-level geometric design, we reclaimed every available square inch to transform a restricted lot into a high-value, resort-caliber destination.

Key Features & Innovations
Integrated Terracing
Rather than fighting the hillside, we designed the pool directly into it, using the topography to our advantage. Through the strategic use of retaining walls, terraces, and masonry steps, we created multiple levels that establish proper drainage patterns and reclaim usable land. This architectural approach creates a 'fortress of privacy' that feels expansive and deliberate despite the site's legal boundaries.
Integrated Terracing
Rather than fighting the hillside, we designed the pool directly into it, using the topography to our advantage. Through the strategic use of retaining walls, terraces, and masonry steps, we created multiple levels that establish proper drainage patterns and reclaim usable land. The Multi-Level Aquatic Retreat
To navigate the tight setbacks, we designed a custom-fitted aquatic experience that wraps into the landscape. The tiered granite spa rises above the main pool to address the site's slope, featuring a spillover waterfall that serves as the visual and acoustic focal point of the entire terraced design. Below, an integrated shallow sun shelf provides a space for in-water relaxation, bridging the gap between the spa and the main basin.
